"Face the Jury" - 2006
Materials: Powder coated steel and perforated steel. each sculpture, 1/2 Acre Site
Location: St. Petersburg Judicial center, St. Petersburg, FL
Commissioning Agency: Dept. of Cultural Affairs, Pinellas CO, FL
Twelve monumental steel chairs, each sitting on its own grass mound, symbolize the diversity of the jury. Seated in the "Defendant" chair, on the edge of the site, one has an unobstructed view of all the "Jury" chairs.
This piece was inspired by the artist's experiences, as a juror, during a two week trial.
