Two identical figures are joined at the waist, facing in opposite directions—one forward, one back. This dual orientation symbolizes the unwavering vigilance and commitment of firefighters, to protect their community.
The concept was partially inspired by Michelangelo’s painting on the Sistine Chapel ceiling, where God is shown both rushing toward and away from the viewer. That image conveys the idea of divine omnipresence. Similarly, this sculpture evokes a constant, watchful presence—ever ready, ever present.
