I concentrate on a number of different mediums and styles, all portraying somewhat similar, traditional subject matter: still lifes, landscapes, and interiors.  Contrasts have always appealed to me, and finding a certain balance or unity between those contrasts has been the challenge: contrasting spatial relationships like flatness with three dimensional; hard edge with soft; abstraction with figuration; lack of detail with detail; painterly with non painterly; opaqueness with transparency; line with mass; rough textures with smooth. 
 My goal is to express a particular intimate mood or experience.
