"Untitled Camouflaged Tree"
8'-0" x 8'-0" x 8'-0",
Painted Plywood

This sculpture installation in Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts was commissioned by the Boston Parks Department as part of Arts in the Park 1997.
This sculpture is inspired by a much larger work installed in Deering Oaks Park in Portland, Maine in the Summer of 1997. In that work I used multiple tree symbols to relate how generic symbols and signs can sometime hide or confuse what they intend to depict or direct.
This piece, an oversized generic tree symbol in tropical jungle camouflage and sited in a 19th century New England park continues that theme.
