"Warning Signs"

Each sign, fabricated to highway standards, has a black silhouette tree image silk screened on to a fluorescent yellow background. In this work I use these symbol/signs to address issues of: the singular vs. the multiple, natural vs. machine made, the pastoral vs. the planned, the generic vs. the unique.
This work serves to warn us, in bright yellow, that the use of signs and symbols can flatten our awareness as well as illuminate it.
