Fabrication has begun! Today the profiles of the two large heads were delivered to Mike Mancarella at
Junoworks The head profiles, there are two for each head, were cut by Nigel from of 3/8" steel plate at Omnicut Water jet Technologies also in Denver.
The profiles are actually many different pieces of steel that will be welded together.
The profiles will then be joined together with more steel plate to make a single piece of tubular steel. The final steel tube will be 6" x 8" in section. The final female head will be 15 feet high.
The male head will be just over 7 feet.

Today the "brain" of the female head was delivered to Junoworks in
Denver, Colorado.
While the steel may look delicate it is 3/8" thick and
will be supported by a ring of 6" x 6" tubular steel. These images
give a detailed look of the woman's brain and the shadows it will cast.
September 3nd 2004; At Junoworks in Denver, Colorado:
The male profile was begun and the male "brain was delivered from Omnijet. Note the figures portrayed and their layout. Compare them with the design and layout for the female head. These figures are based on the standard international icon for male and female. The are all the same and lined lined up in straight rows. This design is meant to symbolize some people have a narrow minded way of thinking. The figures in the female head in contrast are more jumbled in their layout. The figures also display a many differences.
Some are tall some are short. Some are thin some are heavy. Some have idealized physiques others portray less idea body types. Some figures have large heads others have tiny heads. The different sized heads symbolize different ways of thinking; the different body configurations represent the great differences in how we all look. The jumbled layout is meant to symbolize the many different paths we all travel. While the circular form that contains them is meant to symbolize the unifying nature of our democratic system of government.
